# Returning callers

> Alli remembers people who call again, so they do not have to start over.

When someone calls again from the same personal phone number, Alli recognizes them. She can greet them by name and pick up from what they called about last time.

## What Alli remembers

After each call, Alli keeps a short note for that caller: their name, why they called, a one-line summary and anything left open. The note she brings into a call never includes the caller's email address, street address or phone number.

On the call page, the **Caller** panel shows what Alli remembers: the caller's name, when they first called, what they called about last time and any open items.

## First-time and unknown callers

A caller with a withheld, anonymous or shared caller ID is treated as a new caller every time. Alli only remembers people by a personal number.
