# Voice quickstart

> Sign up for Alli Voice, describe your business, and start sending calls to Alli.

Setup takes about two minutes after checkout. You tell Alli about your business, she writes your receptionist, and your calls start landing in your call log.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start your subscription">
    Go to [dashboard.hirealli.com/start/voice](https://dashboard.hirealli.com/start/voice) and select **Get Alli**. Alli Voice is \$197 a month, and you can cancel any time.

    Payment is handled by Stripe, which also collects your email address. That address becomes your sign-in and the place your call summaries go.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open your setup link">
    As soon as the payment goes through, we email you a link. Select **Set up my receptionist** in that email.

    <Note>
      The link signs you in once and expires in 15 minutes. If it is not in your inbox after a minute, check spam. If it expired, go to [dashboard.hirealli.com](https://dashboard.hirealli.com), enter the same email and select **Email me a sign-in link**.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tell Alli about your business">
    The setup form has four short steps:

    1. **You and your business.** Your name and your business name (both required), plus your website or a description of your services. Alli introduces herself with your business name and reads your website to learn what you offer.
    2. **Where you work.** Your area code and city, both optional. They help Alli sound local and pick a nearby number.
    3. **How calls should route.** The phone number Alli should transfer to when a caller asks for a person, and how you plan to use Alli (after-hours answering, overflow, your main line). How you will use her shapes how she answers.
    4. **Look good?** Check your details, then select **Create my receptionist**.

    Alli greets your callers with: *"Thanks for calling (your business), this is Alli, who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?"*
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait while Alli writes your receptionist">
    Alli reads your website, writes your receptionist and publishes her. This usually takes a minute or two. When she is ready, select **Go to my call log**.

    If it takes longer than usual, you can close the page. The Alli team finishes the setup and emails you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get your Alli phone number">
    Your receptionist answers on her own phone number. The Alli team connects that number and emails it to you. Call it yourself first to hear how she sounds.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Forward your business line">
    Keep your existing business number and forward it to your Alli number. Most phone carriers set this up from your account settings or their support line. Choose one:

    * **Forward all calls** if Alli should answer every call.
    * **Forward when busy or unanswered** if Alli should pick up only the calls you miss.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Watch your calls come in">
    Every call appears in your [call log](/using-alli/calls-and-recordings) with its recording, transcript, outcome and summary. After each call, Alli also emails you a [call summary](/using-alli/messages-and-summaries).
  </Step>
